Jennifer Holzhauer, MSW, LCSW is the Co-Director for the Trauma Response Program (TRP). Jennifer was born and raised in St. Louis and graduated from Washington University Brown School of Social Work with her master’s degree in 1999. She was awarded her license to practice social work in the state of MO in 2001. Jennifer has always been committed to providing trauma-informed evidenced-based therapy with children and their families who are facing difficulty. She started the TRP with Dr. John Constantino in June of 2010. She specializes in her practice with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child and Family Trauma Stress Intervention (CFTSI), and Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma (ITCT) currently with individuals who are at 7 to 17. Jennifer works with young adults until they are comfortable to transition to an adult provider. She works with parents as well, to assist with managing and supporting a child as they are recovering from trauma. Jennifer and colleagues created the TRP’s innovative evidenced-based sexual abuse prevention education program in 2017. The TRP team and Girls in the Know collaborators provide this program in St. Louis City Public Schools multiple times a year. The program has recently expanded into the Healthworks! children’s museum with Jewish Children and Family Services and is open to the public with children age 7 to 10.
Jennifer lives with her husband and dogs, Presley and Phinean. She enjoys exercises like yoga, spinning, and barre. Jennifer is active with her many nieces and nephews and enjoys her family time with them. She relaxes by watching movies, doing puzzles, reading, and gardening. She is an active supporter of the St. Louis Zoo and she and her husband spend many hours there together.
