The Collaborative Network for Overcoming Emotional Challenges, Crisis and Trauma (CONNECT)

The Collaborative Network for Overcoming Emotional Challenges, Crisis, and Trauma (CONNECT) is an integrated program housed in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division at Washington University School of Medicine. CONNECT unites three specialized services—Trauma Response, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and the Bridge Program—into a comprehensive network of care.

  • The Trauma Response Program (TRP) provides evidence-based interventions to support children and families recovering from traumatic experiences.
  • The Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Family Resiliency Program (ADBT) focuses on helping youth develop skills to manage emotional dysregulation, reduce self-harm, and build resilience.
  • The Bridge Program offers transitional care to children discharged from inpatient psychiatric units or emergency departments following a mental health crisis, ensuring continuity of care and connection to long-term support.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration, CONNECT addresses the complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of children and adolescents. The program is dedicated to promoting healing, stability, and growth in young people and their families.
